The Terriers had a lot to be thankful for as they skated away with a 3-2 win over Holy Cross on this Tuesday before Thanksgiving in 2008. BU never trailed in the game but the Crusaders kept it close. Brandon Yip and Zach Cohen scored for the Terriers, with Colin Wilson notching the game winner. Read more here.

Freshman Sean Maguire was a force in net stopping all 21 shots he faced and aiding the Terriers in a 4-0 win over St. Lawrence on this date in 2012. Wade Megan, Sam Kurker, Ben Rosen and Matt Nieto all scored in the domineering victory. Click here for the full story.

Freshman Sam Stevens scored the first two goals of his collegiate career on this date in 2019. Junior David Farrance netted his 10th of the season as the Terriers skated to a 3-3 draw in OT against Vermont in this weekend series, which saw BU taking the first game Friday 3-0. Read more, click here.

In another contest that found the Terriers trailing 2-0 entering the third period, junior Ahti Oksanen and junior Matt Lane found the back of the net to tie it up to send the game to overtime on this date in 2014. Freshman Jack Eichel scored 2:20 into overtime to lift BU to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Maine. To read more, click here.

Trailing 2-0 after 50 minutes of play, the Terriers benefited from a flurry of goals scored by senior Danny O’Regan and junior Robbie Baillargeon just 12 seconds apart. Following in the footsteps of French dance-pop phenomena Phoenix and ’80s icon Duran Duran, Two Door Cinema Club recorded their debut 2010 album Tourist History at Eastcote Studios in London. On various tours, their live sets turned into impromptu dance parties, not even the most passive fans could resist the groove. And the same thing happened on this date in 2016 when they brought that same electricity to Agganis.

In a wild game, that saw only 1 goal in the first period, the Terriers erupted for a 3 goal second period to secure a 4-0 lead over the Minutemen going into the third period. Massachusetts answered quickly, scoring 3 goals in the opening nine minutes of the third, but the Terriers held strong and finished with a 4-3 victory on this date in 2019. Wouldn’t it be nice to raise money for an amazing cause while dancing the night away with one of the most iconic bands in history? It would, and it happened! In a truly unique event at Agganis Arena, Mission Gratitude featuring the Beach Boys, took place on this date in 2016 and it was “fun, fun, fun”! Home Base raised over one million dollars to support veterans and service members suffering from invisible wounds. 925 Comm Ave was filled with good vibrations!

A mix of traditional circus acts and modern acrobatics, Saltimbanco first delighted audiences in 1992 and had become Cirque du Soleil’s longest running production by the time it closed at the end of 2012. On this date in 2012, was show number 6 in a successful 8 show run. Agganis was one of the last stops on the tour before Saltimbanco closed forever.

In 2007, Agganis Arena was a swirling mass of color featuring lasers, movies and animations, a kaleidoscopic lightshow, and even inflatables as The Australian Pink Floyd Show breezed through with their trademark inflatable kangaroo. Formed in 1988 in Adelaide, South Australia, this Pink Floyd tribute band became increasingly popular due to their propensity to play shows that closely duplicate actual Pink Floyd shows.

Back in 2006, Agganis Arena was busting at the seams with laughter as Dennis Leary, Bill Burr, Bob Marley, and other comedians had the crowd in stitches during Comics Come Home XII. The show would later return for seven more years bringing a ton of lighthearted laughs to Comm Ave.

Marc Anthony has received countless gold and platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and he can certainly draw a fun crowd of concert attendees. Marc Anthony played his 4th show at Agganis Arena on this date in 2018. He would later return in 2020 for his 5th appearance at Agganis!
