Fueled by 2 goals from Ross Gaudet and 3 assists from Nick Bonino, the Terriers steamrolled UMASS on this date in 2015, winning 6-2. This was Gaudet’s first career multiple goal game. Read the full story here.

Saturday, January 28, 2017

The Terriers closed out a long stretch of 5 games in 9 days on this date in 2017, beating UMass Lowell 4-2. Clayton Keller’s goal and assist in the game extended his point streak to 13 games (9g, 12a), which was the longest by a Terrier since Jack Eichel put together a 14-game streak from Feb. 6 – March 27, 2015. On this date in 2018, ELEAGUE, the premium esports tournament and content brand from Turner and IMG, kicked off its second Major Championship in two years featuring Valve’s popular Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

On this date in 2013, standup phenomenon Jeff Dunham brought his worldwide “Disorderly Conduct Tour” to Agganis Arena. His famed troupe of sidekicks were there as well: Walter, Achmed, Bubba J, Peanut, José Jalapeño, and Peanut’s own ventriloquist dummy Little Jeff, a mini-version of the ringmaster himself. This was Dunham’s second visit to Agganis Arena. In 2020, Jeff joined the Agganis Arena 5 Timers Club with his fifth show here!

On this date in 2011, Cirque du Soleil kicked off their 8 show run of Dralion. Fans were enchanted by the fusion of 3000 year old Chinese acrobatic arts with the multidisciplinary approach of Cirque du Soleil. In Dralion, the four elements that govern the natural order took on a human form. Thus embodied, each element was represented by its own evocative colour: air was blue; water was green; fire was red; earth was ochre. In the world of Dralion, cultures blended, Man and Nature were one, and balance was achieved.

Disney on Ice Presents Treasure Trove kicked off a 15 show run on this date in 2015. All our favorite Disney princesses were there including, Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Aurora, Tiana, Mulan and Snow White. Fans set sail with Peter Pan, the always sassy Tinker Bell and the cantankerous Captain Hook & his pirate pals, and they trekked the wilds of Africa with Simba, Nala, Pumbaa and Timon. It was a show to remember!

Our favorite mice, Mickey and Minnie were back on this date in 2016 when Disney on Ice kicked off their 14 show Dare to Dream run. The crowd laughed with Rapunzel, Flynn and Maximus from Tangled. Traveled to the enchanted forest with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo’d as Cinderella’s dreams came true with the help of her animal friends and Fairy Godmother. And boogied to the beat of the bayou with Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen from The Princess and the Frog.

On this date in 2013, Disney on Ice Presents Passport to Adventure kicked off a 22 show run at Agganis Arena. Guests embarked on the ultimate sightseeing vacation with all our favorite Disney characters where we journeyed to the magical worlds of Disney’s The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan and Lilo & Stitch. Filled with upbeat music, lovable characters and exciting destinations, Disney On Ice presents Passport to Adventure was a vacation we’ll never forget.

On this date in 2019, the Spanish legend graced Agganis Arena with his powerful ballads and melodies.

On this date in 2018, the Terriers closed off the first half of the season with a 4-1 win over Dartmouth. Jake Oettinger had 33 saves in the game, and Patrick Harper scored the game winning goal. Lots of local four legged friends were probably on their best behavior after this night in 2009 when The Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan came to Agganis. During the show, he shared a vast array of insights on how to transform both dogs and their owners behavior. It was anything but “ruff”.

On this date in 2009, BU rallied from a 3-1 deficit and a game tying goal by Corey Trivino sent the game to overtime. The Terriers previous 3 games also went to overtime. Thanks to 35 saves from Matt O’Connor and goals from 4 different Terriers, BU topped archrival BC 4-2 on this date in 2012. Garrett Noonan opened the scoring near the game’s midpoint and sophomore Evan Rodrigues doubled the lead with under 4 minutes left in the second. Matt Grzelcyk converted a wraparound in the early stages of the third to bring the score to 3-1, before Wade Megan tacked on a shorthanded empty-netter. To read more, click here.

In a back and forth game that saw Brown jump to a 2 goal lead early in the first, BU was able to come back, scoring 3 straight through the first and second periods. The Bears answered with 2 more in the second and third leading 4-3 until Wade Megan tied it up with a little over 7 minutes left in regulation. On various tours, their live sets turned into impromptu dance parties, not even the most passive fans could resist the groove. And the same thing happened on this date in 2016 when they brought that same electricity to Agganis.

Wouldn’t it be nice to raise money for an amazing cause while dancing the night away with one of the most iconic bands in history? It would, and it happened! In a truly unique event at Agganis Arena, Mission Gratitude featuring the Beach Boys, took place on this date in 2016 and it was “fun, fun, fun”! Home Base raised over one million dollars to support veterans and service members suffering from invisible wounds. 925 Comm Ave was filled with good vibrations!

Logic – the 29-year-old Grammy nominated (Song Of The Year and Best Music Video) rapper burst onto the music scene through a series of mixtapes that led to a significant, rabid underground fan base. 1-800-273-8255, the 6X Platinum single off Everybody, which spotlights mental health and suicide prevention awareness, has become Logic’s highest charting single to date, and he performed it to a screaming crowd last year, in 2019.

A mix of traditional circus acts and modern acrobatics, Saltimbanco first delighted audiences in 1992 and had become Cirque du Soleil’s longest running production by the time it closed at the end of 2012. On this date in 2012, was show number 6 in a successful 8 show run. Agganis was one of the last stops on the tour before Saltimbanco closed forever.

In 2007, Agganis Arena was a swirling mass of color featuring lasers, movies and animations, a kaleidoscopic lightshow, and even inflatables as The Australian Pink Floyd Show breezed through with their trademark inflatable kangaroo. Formed in 1988 in Adelaide, South Australia, this Pink Floyd tribute band became increasingly popular due to their propensity to play shows that closely duplicate actual Pink Floyd shows.

Marc Anthony has received countless gold and platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and he can certainly draw a fun crowd of concert attendees. Marc Anthony played his 4th show at Agganis Arena on this date in 2018. He would later return in 2020 for his 5th appearance at Agganis!
